Donald Trump is headed to what appears to be a decisive victory in Tuesday's New York Republican presidential primary.

Trump is projected to easily outdistance Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Sen. Ted Cruz.

The campaign for New York state's 247 Democratic delegates and 95 Republican delegates has been in full swing for three weeks, with fellow New Yorkers Hillary Clinton of Chappaqua and Trump of Manhattan and Bedford leading their respective political parties in polling and delegate vote totals less than seven months before the November election.

"The people of this country and this state truly are great and amazing people," Trump said in his victory speech at Trump Tower. "We are going to be so strong again. Really. Legitimately so great again, and I just can't wait."

Clinton, a former New York senator, First Lady and Secretary of State, defeated Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on the Democratic side.

Clinton kicked off her New York primary campaign at Purchase College on March 31 speaking out strongly in favor of tougher gun control laws.

Trump, who owns Trump Tower in Manhattan as well as an estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor. The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
