Woman Locked In Supermarket Tops North Castle Police Blotter

NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- An employee of DeCicco’s in Armonk had to call 911 on Tuesday, Sept. 15, when she was accidentally trapped in the supermarket, North Castle police said.

The unidentified woman told authorities that she had gone into a back room at the Maple Avenue store to retrieve her bag and found that the store had been closed and locked up tight when she re-emerged, according to the police blotter.

Police were able to locate someone with a key, and the employee was freed.

Other items in the blotter included the following:

  • Friday, Sept. 11: Police investigated a complaint from a Gressel Place resident who said two men who appeared to be skulking around an abandoned house. The suspicious pair were gone by the time police arrived. Police checked the house and did not find any obvious signs of a break-in.
  • Sunday, Sept. 13: A woman appeared at police headquarters, accompanied by her grandmother, to report that she had been the target of verbal threats after she broke up with her boyfriend. She asked to file a report and a statement was taken.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 15: The owners of a shop on Lafayette Avenue reported that a $50 case of brake cleaner had been stolen from his shop. He told police that he checked his surveillance video and saw one of his vendors taking the case. Police took statements from the owner and witnesses.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 16: A woman on Hidden Oak Road sought assistance after, police said, her home health aide refused to leave after being asked to go. An officer responded and the matter was resolved.
