State Police were issuing a traffic citation to a 2004 Honda Accord on I-287 at Exit 6 on the right shoulder,when the driver of a 2015 Honda Accord sideswiped the trooper's car and then struck the 2004 Honda.
The driver of the 2015 Honda Accord, Lisa J. Buerle, 52, of White Plains, was found to be intoxicated, according to police.
Greenburgh Ambulance responded and tended to the drivers of both Hondas and the trooper. Neither the driver of the 2004 Honda, Angie V. Gil, 22, of White Plains nor Buerle were injured, police said. The trooper sustained an arm and shoulder injury, was treated and released, according to police.
Buerle was transported and processed at State Police barracks i Tarrytown where her blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.15 percent, police said.
She was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated (a misdemeanor) as well as multiple Vehicle and traffic violations.
Buerle was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Greenburgh Court on June 22.
