Vehicle Crash At Supermarket Tops North Castle Police Blotter

NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- North Castle police dealt with calls over the past week ranging from a one-car crash at the Stop & Shop in on North Broadway (highlighted below) to calls for trees in the roadway.

A few of the calls included:

  • July 7, 12:23 a.m. -- A caller reported an erratic driver to police on State Road 22 heading northbound from White Plains. The caller said the driver was swerving from lane to lane and turning their headlights on and off. Officers scoured the area but were unable to find the vehicle described a dark Toyota Camry with New York plates.
  • July 7, 11:55 a.m. -- Police received a call that a truck had struck wires and pulled them off a building at Bellantoni Landscaping on Lafayette Avenue. When officers responded they found the wires still intact, but low-hanging at the entrance to the driveway. Con Edison was notified.
  • July 7, 8:10 p.m. -- A caller reported a tree down in the roadway on State Road 22 north of the Rye Lake Bridge. Officer was able to remove the tree.
  • July 8, 6:18 a.m. -- A vehicle crash involving an elderly female was reported by Stop & Shop employees on North Broadway. The woman received a minor head injury, and an ambulance was called.
  • July 8, 11:41 p.m. -- A caller reported a tree was blocking the northbound lane of traffic on State Road 120. Officers responded and found the tree leaning on cable wires. Verizon was notified.
  • July 8, 11:41 p.m. -- Employees at the La Quinta Inns $ Suitess on Business Park Drive reported a large party in Room #166. Officers responded and broke up the party.
  • July 9, 8:46 a.m. -- A resident called to report that construction work was taking place on Tallwoods Road before 9 a.m. Officers responded and the matter was resolved.
  • July 9, 9:01 a.m. -- A resident on Winkler Farm Road reported they had found a dog on their property. Officer responded and returned the dog to its owner.
  • July 10, 10:13 p.m. -- A resident called to complain that a red Volkswagon was parked in his driveway on Washington Avenue. Officers responded and the matter was settled.
  • July 11, 11:35 a.m. -- An employee of the Wells Fargo Bank on Main Street called to report a patron inside the bank was causing a problem. Officers responded but the person had left the area.
