Two Stores Cited In Northern Westchester Underage Drinking Initiative

State Police in Somers conducted an underage drinking initiative in Northern Westchester on Friday, Oct. 6, with two stores facing charges.

The initiative targeted the sale of alcohol to minors and consisted of a team of state police members.

An underage male operative was utilized with the team to attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages from 10 establishments in the Westchester County towns of Somers, North Salem, Pound Ridge, and Lewisboro. 

The following two establishments did complete a sale of alcoholic beverages to the undercover operative:

  • Pound Ridge Wine and Spirits, Pound Ridge
  • Rocky's, Somers

The clerks were each charged with NYS ABC Law violations of prohibited sales of alcoholic beverages to a minor.

The following establishments were visited with an undercover operative and refused to sell alcoholic beverages to the undercover operative:

  • Scotts Corners Market/Pound Ridge
  • South Salem Wine and Liquor/Lewisboro
  • Cameron’s Deli Cross River/Lewisboro
  • Somers Mobil Mart/Somers
  • Somers Sunoco/Somers
  • Shell Gas Station/North Salem
  • Salem Liquors/Lewisboro
  • Vista Market/Lewisboro
