Suspicious Packages Top North Castle Police Blotter

NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. – Suspicious packages at a resident’s home topped a recent North Castle police blotter.

On Friday, Feb. 13, at 12:39 p.m., a complainant reported that packages were being sent to 31 Maryland Ave. that did not belong to his family or the residence. Deliveries had come over two weeks with a total of eight packages being delivered in different names. Complainant stated that he informed all of the delivery companies that the packages were being sent to the wrong address and that they should stop such deliveries. He believed the deliveries were a scam.

On Thursday, Feb. 12, at 3:45 p.m, a complainant at 42 Nethermont Ave. reported two male subjects came to his door soliciting home remodeling, and he was unsure if they had a permit permitting them to perform those activities.

On Thursday, Feb. 12, at 4:16 p.m., a caller reported that he was having a dispute with the business owner at 905 N. Broadway over payment for repairs.

On Sunday, Feb. 15, at 9:48 a.m., a caller reported that a 70-year-old male fell down a flight of stairs at 24 General Heath Ave. and had possibly broken his ankle.

On Monday, Feb. 16, at 2:02 a.m., a caller from 24 Intervale Ave. reported she heard sounds that sounded like someone was trying to enter her home through the front door.

On Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 12:15 p.m., a caller reported that she was the housekeeper at 42 Windmill Road, and went there that day to clean, but there was no answer at the residence. Homeowners are an elderly couple. The caller also stated she saw the elderly male's nebulizer on the floor through the window. Officers responded and said the house was unoccupied.

On Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 8:09 p.m., a caller at 13 Hemlock Hollow Road, reported that her 15-year-old daughter may have overdosed on medication. The daughter was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital.

On Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 11:09 a.m., a caller at 2 Sterling Road South stated that two males were at the end her driveway, one short stocky Hispanic male in his 30s and a white male wearing a green sweatshirt. Caller stated she then opened the door and asked what the two males were doing. Both males did not respond and proceeded into a burgundy van with a ladder on top. The vehicle was gone when police arrived.  

On Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 11:30 a.m., a caller at 23 Hopkins Lane stated that her babysitter heard a hissing sound coming from the upstairs bathroom, possibly a pipe leaking. Fire Department was notified and police responded.
