Suspected Hitchhiker Tops North Castle Police Blotter

NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. – A suspected hitchhiker on Main Street tops a recent North Castle Police Department blotter.

At about 11:20 a.m. Monday, March 23, a citizen called the police department to report a “suspicious male” hitchhiking.

Upon further investigation, a police officer learned the man was waiting for a taxi to take him home.

North Castle police also recently handled the following calls:

  • About 5:25 p.m. Friday, March 20, a Washington Avenue resident told police she was concerned about her son’s well being. The son was allegedly drinking alcoholic beverages and consuming prescription drugs shortly after being released from the hospital, according to the police report. The woman further alleged her son was being obnoxious and verbally acting out. Two officers responded to the home; no further information was noted in the police report.
  • About 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21, a Banksville Road resident reported someone had smashed his mail box the day before.
  • About 5:15 p.m. Saturday, March 21, a woman reported two purses were stolen from her vehicle that was parked at Business Park Drive.
