Stolen Leather Jackets Tops North Castle Police Blotter

NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- Police on Thursday, Feb. 11, were searching for a man accused of stealing two leather jackets from a store on Main Street, according to police.

Officers responded to the store at 6:25 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, to find that the store owner had reviewed security footage from earlier that day which showed the unidentified man taking the jackets, according to police. He was accompanied by a woman. She, too, remained unidentified Thursday.Authorities did not release any details about the couple.

In other incidents:

  • White Plains police reported that a woman called North Castle Police at about 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, to report that she had met up with someone on North Broadway to purchase a pair of sneakers. The woman reported to police that she had paid for the sneakers, but that the would-be seller never produced them.
  • An employee at the Stop & Shop store on North Broadway called police about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, to report that he found four rolls of lottery tickets. According to police, the employee reported the find to the ticket manufacturer, who confirmed that tickets were missing from another location. According to police, the tickets were no longer active. 
  • Police responded to Half Mile Road on Tuesday, Feb. 9, after a homeowner reported that a neighbor had dumped burning embers from his fireplace into a nearby wooded area. When officers arrived, they found ash, but no dangerous condition. They spoke to the man, asking that not dump his embers in the woods again, according to police.
