Reported Gun Shots, Overnight Golf Course Damage Top North Castle Blotter

Members of the North Castle Police Department were called to an area home after a local homeowner reported that she suspects she heard gunshots ring out in the street in the middle of the night.

A North Lane resident reported to police shortly before 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 16 that she heard what she believed to be two gunshots, five minutes earlier, leading to a police investigation in the area.

Officers responded to the scene and canvassed the area, investigating without any success. Police said that the “area appeared quiet at the time.”

Other items on the North Castle Police Department blotter from Friday, June 15, through Thursday, June 21 include:

  • Police intervention was required shortly after 8:30 p.m. on June 15, where a woman reported a domestic dispute between herself and her husband, who was allegedly intoxicated. The woman stated that her husband damaged a door inside the house during the incident. Officers responded to the scene and filed a report.
  • An employee at the Whippoorwill Country Club reported to police that there was damage at the 13th hole, which occurred overnight on June 15. The incident is under investigation.
  • On June 17, a Bedford Road resident reported to police that his motorcycle may have been stolen overnight. Officers responded to the home and launched an investigation, which determined that the vehicle had been stolen and has not yet been recovered.
  • Andrew Seicol, the Assistant Chief of the North White Plains Fire Department contacted North Castle Police Headquarters shortly before 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, to report that a member of his department was on the receiving end of a road rage incident while en route to a previous call. The incident - which may have been captured on a dash camera - is under investigation. Officers responded to the North White Plains Fire Department house to speak with the parties involved.

In total, the department responded to 189 calls from area residents over the course of the week.
