Police Nab Westchester Teenagers After Armed Robbery

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Two young suspects have been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery, Port Chester police said on Wednesday.

About 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a report of a robbery in progress on Poningo Street near Buckley Avenue. 

The robbery victim told police he was approached by two males, one of whom brandished a knife, who asked for his wallet. The victim provided responding officers with a physical description of the two suspects.

Shortly afterward, Port Chester detectives spotted two subjects on Buckley Avenue who closely fit the description of the perpetrators. Upon the approach of the detectives, the subjects, fled engaging officers in a foot pursuit.

One of the suspects, a 15-year-old juvenile, was apprehended about four blocks away. 

A second suspect, Alex Orozco, 16, of Port Chester was arrested later by police detectives. 

Orozco was charged with first-degree attempted robbery, a class C felony. He was being held at police headquarters pending arraignment. 

Orozco's juvenile accomplice was referred to Family Court.
