Police Charge Boy With Possession Of Knife At Copper Beech Middle School

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 14-year-old boy from Crompond was charged with juvenile delinquency for the unlawful possession of a weapon on Thursday, Nov. 5, Yorktown Police said.

The boy, whose name is being withheld, was arrested after staff members at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School advised police that a student was in possession of a knife, according to police.

An investigation at the school revealed the youth had a knife in his locker, police report.

The boy was arrested at the scene and charged with juvenile delinquency, with an underlying charge of unlawful possession of a weapon by persons under 16, police report.

The boy was issued a juvenile appearance ticket directing him to appear at the Department of Probation on Nov. 19, according to police.

The youth was then released on his own recognizance to the custody of a parent, police report.
