ARMONK, N.Y. – The North Castle Police Department has reported 15 car break-ins just this month.
Between Feb. 9-11, seven break-ins had been reported , at which point police sent out a notice to residents warning them to lock their car doors.
However, as recently as Saturday, eight more break-ins were reported since then.
The nature of the break-ins continue to be taking valuables from inside cars. While the first wave included missing valuables, such as wallets and loose change, the most recent incidents have included items such as stolen groceries, police said.
Break-ins have been taking place in residential locations, such as Armonk’s Davis Drive, Lakeridge Drive and Chestnut Ridge Road. Most vehicles involved have been unlocked and left in driveways, police said.
Police are continuing to investigate the incidents that have been reported while also urging residents to lock their car doors.
