Men In School Went To Bathroom, Asked About Admission, Bedford Police Say

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The men who recently entered Rippowam Cisqua School each went to a nearby bathroom, while one inquired about admission for a 15-year-old family member, according to Bedford Police Lt. Jeffrey Dickan.

Police are seeking to question two men who entered Rippowam Cisqua School's West Patent Road location.

When the men entered the school, one headed directly to a nearby restroom, Dickan explained, while the other was confronted by a school employee. The man speaking with the employee inquired about admission to the school for a family member, Dickan added. The employee explained that the school did not have 15-year-old students.

The second man then went to the restroom before the two left the building, Dickan added.

Dickan called the matter a "very short" interaction and noted that it happened within minutes. While identification of the men is being sought, Dickan explained that there is no criminal investigation. Instead, the two men are being sought by police to question them.

Police noted earlier this week that the men entered Rippowam Cisqua's West Patent Road location. That site, called the Lower Campus, is for students from pre-K through fourth grade, according to the school's website.

Rippowam Cisqua's Upper Campus, which is located near Cantitoe Street, serves grades five through nine, the website notes.

Police previously disclosed it was the school that reported the matter.
