Man Caught With Heroin After I-87 Traffic Stop, Police Say

CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- A West Haverstraw man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop on I-87 Tuesday in Clarkstown, state police said.

Brian R. Estrella, 25, was pulled over on June 28 shortly after 6 p.m. on the highway for “multiple traffic violations,” police said.

He was found to be in possession of more than 1.5 ounces of heroin and was arrested, police said.

Estrella was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; third-degree possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony; and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

He was arraigned in Town of Ramapo Court and sent to Rockland County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash bail or bond.

He is to appear in Town of Clarkstown Court on Tuesday, July 5.
