A routine stop for speeding on I-87 in Orange County led to multiple felony charges for a 33-year-old man who was found in possession of cocaine and psychedelic drugs, state police said.

New York State Police troopers on patrol in Cornwall stopped Astoria resident Paul Bueno shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning after he was spotted speeding on the interstate. During the subsequent traffic stop, police said that Bueno gave troopers probable cause to search his vehicle.

While searching for the vehicle, police said that they recovered 3.64 grams of cocaine, 7.08 grams of Methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA) and 4.68 grams of Alprazolam were recovered.

Bueno was arrested and charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all felonies. Bueno was also charged with misdemeanor counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

No bail or court date has been set, police said. Bueno has been arraigned on the charges in the Town of Cornwall Court and is due to answer the charges later this year.
