At 2:05 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, a woman complained that a rooster frequently starts crowing at 4 a.m., waking her family, police said. 

An officer located the rooster and its owner, who told police the situation would be rectified.

North Castle police also recently handled the following calls:

  • About 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, someone complained multiple vehicles were parked on both sides of the roadway at the intersection of Cedar Hill Road and Hickory Pass. The caller said the vehicles are parked there between 8:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. on school days, making it difficult for people to see oncoming traffic or access the designated bus stop.
  • About 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, a man came into police headquarters and reported two license plates were missing from his work vehicle.
  • About 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, officers responded to Virginia Road regarding a customer who refused to leave the business’ property.
  • About 12:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, a caller reported possible gunshots fired at Route 120 and Whippoorwill Road. Upon further investigation, police determined a Department of Environmental Protection contractor was conducting waterfowl mitigation operations in the area.
  • About 9:10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, a man came into police headquarters and reported the license plates were missing from his vehicle.
  • About 2:55 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, a man told police he went to Byram Lake and found his rowboat significantly damaged by fire.
