NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- A hit-and-run accident is among the most recent reports from the North Castle Police Department.
According to police, after numerous calls reporting a car accident on Round Hill Road on May 6, officers responded and found a car that hit a telephone poll, but the driver had fled the scene.
Here other incident reported recently:
- May 7: A resident came to the Police Department to report a suspicious incident on Whippoorwill Road East in which her neighbor put an envelope under her door, partially sticking out into the hallway. When she came home the woman found that someone had removed the envelope and returned it to her neighbor's door. Report made as a matter of record at this time
- May 7: Police received a report of a suspicious "scruffy white male" looking inside of vehicles of the parking lot on Main Street with some type of tool in his hand. By the time officers arrived, the man had left the area.
- May 8: A resident called to report that a couple with two small children were soliciting money from passing motorists at the entrance to the parking lot on North Broadway. Police responded, and the couple left the area.
- May 9: The Highway Department reported receiving a complaint on a dumpster, that was dropped along the roadway on Limestone Road, which may cause a traffic safety condition. Police responded and spoke with the worker from Envirostar tank removal services who reported that the container would be picked up within a half hour and will be coned off with a flag person, until it was removed.
