NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- North Castle police are investigating a report of a hit-and-run that left a car damaged.
A woman called police on Saturday, Feb. 20, to report that someone had struck her Mercedes which had been parked in a lot off Business Park Drive.
The headlight had been broken and the culprit left a streak of white paint on her car, police said.
In other items on the police blotter:
- Friday, Feb. 19 : A woman called from Bedford Road to report that a man driving a beige sedan had followed her into a parking lot and had accused her "and all the other SUVs" of following him. The driver, whom the complainant described as a light-skinned black man in his late 20s, appeared "confused," police said. She also told police that the man left without further incident and drove south on Route 22. He was not located.
- Saturday, Feb. 20 : A woman house-sitting for the owners of a home on Round Hill Road called police to report that she was hearing someone inside of the residence. She told police that she was not expecting anyone to be home. The responding officer found that the homeowners had returned earlier than the sitter expected and cleared the scene.
