WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - Detectives from the North Castle Police Department are investigating a hit-and-run accident that left property damage in Armonk.

Shortly before 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, a driver went to police headquarters to report that she had been involved in a crash on Maple Avenue that resulted in property damage.

Police said that the crash occurred at approximately 5 p.m. on Oct. 17, though the other motorist involved in the incident fled the scene in a black Volkswagen Jetta with Connecticut license plates.

The driver was able to provide a partial license plate for the Jetta, and police canvassed the area without success in finding the motorist.

Other items on the North Castle Police Department blotter between Friday, Oct. 13 and Thursday, Oct. 19 include:

  • The owner of RDC Electric in White Plains reported to police on Monday, Oct. 16 that two vehicles in his fleet had been broken into over the weekend.
  • On Oct. 15, police were contacted by a woman who reported that there was an “Encon” van parked in her driveway, with the operator of the van ringing the doorbell aggressively although there was no appointment scheduled. Officers responded to the scene and reported that the van had moved to a nearby home to conduct work in the area.
  • The North Castle Police Department received a report from a motorist traveling on Baldwin Road toward Byram Lake Road at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Oct. 14 who said that there was approximately seven men standing in the street holding up signs with the letter “X” on them. The caller said they tried to stop the vehicle as he was passing by. Police responded to the scene as a precaution and found that the parties were involved with the Westchester Sports Car Club, who were having a rally for their club that evening, and Baldwin Road was the finish point of the event.
