Greenwich Man Arrested After Police Seize Assault Rifle, Ammunition

GREENWICH, Conn. -- A Greenwich man is facing many serious weapons charges in case that began when officers went to his home for a medical call and discovered a Bushmaster XM 15 assault rifle and ammunition, police said.

Edward A. Koller, 34, of 53 Stonehedge Drive S., turned himself in to Greenwich police early Monday on a warrant. Officers had discovered the weapons in his home on April 23, police said. 

He was charged with 49 counts of failing to register a high-capacity magazine, illegal possession of an assault weapon, weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a gun without a permit and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

He was unable to post the court set bond of $250,000 and was held in custody by Greenwich Police.

His next scheduled court date is May 12 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
