The fire smell was pungent near the premises, which is at 35 Whippoorwill Road East. A stretch of the road was closed to traffic as part of the firefighters' response.

Armonk's fire department was dispatched at 7:46 p.m., according to Cano, who added that nobody was home at the time and there were no injuries.

Cano said the fire was "knocked down pretty quickly," and that it was contained to the garage.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

Mutual aid, according to the chief, was provided by firefighters from Mount Kisco, Banksville, Chappaqua and Millwood. North Castle Police and Westchester EMS were also at the scene.
