ARMONK, N.Y. The pro shop at Brynwood Golf and Country Club in Armonk was struck by lightning Sunday as severe thunderstorms rolled through Westchester County.
Several fire engines were on the scene shortly after the strike, said William Delotto, an Armonk firefighter.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Westchester County at 4:39 p.m. that warned of storms capable of producing damaging winds at speeds more than 60 mph. The warning advised people to take shelter indoors and prepare for damaging winds and cloud-to-ground lightning.
The warning is in effect until 5:30 p.m.
Update: There were no injuries as a result of the strike and fire crews left the scene by 6 p.m. said Carlos Cano, an Armonk firefighter.
