Annoying Squirrel Tops North Castle Police Blotter

ARMONK, N.Y. -- North Castle police were recently called to assist in a home invasion case where the culprit was described, not as a ski mask-wearing thug, but as having beady eyes and a bushy tail.

North Castle police responded to a call for help from a resident of North White Plains after a squirrel invaded her home.

A resident the hamlet of North White Plains sought help Tuesday after a squirrel got into her home on General Heath Avenue.

Police responded, but by the time they got to the house, the cavalry had arrived in the form of a local pest control company. Presumably, the furry intruder was promptly dispatched, or at least relocated.

Other police blotter items were:

  • Saturday, Jan. 9: A resident of Hopkins Lane called police to complain that she was having an issue with her ex-husband.
  • Sunday, Jan. 10: A resident of Hillandale Avenue reported that her mailbox had been knocked over. The responding officer determined that there was no physical damage to the mailbox.
  • Monday, Jan. 11: A resident of Annadale Street called police to report that a suspicious vehicle was parked in the driveway of a vacant cottage across the street from her home with its lights off.
