The crash occurred around 1 a.m. when the driver, Jake Schaevitz, 19, of Bedford, lost control of the 2001 Ferrari while driving on Route 172 and flipped the vehicle numerous times, said Bedford Sgt. Rich Hubert.

Schaevitz has been charged with DWI, but additional charges may still be pending, Hubert added.

"We are waiting for a final crash report and recommendations," he said Monday.

The passenger, a 19-year-old Pound Ridge resident, was seriously injured. Both men had to be extricated from the vehicle after it went off the road and into the horse farm.
