WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Westchester County Department of Health is looking for answers following the death of a 7-year-old girl in Eastchester girl over the weekend.

The Department of Health is investigating the sudden death of Greenvale Elementary School student Lily Love, who passed away on Saturday from unknown causes.

In a statement, Westchester County Commissioner of Health Sherlita Amler said that the death was an isolated incident, and parents need not fear sending their children to school on Monday.

"Absolute statements about safety concerns cannot be made until all relevant information is known. But based on what is known at this time, there are no indications of any impact to others at the school," she stated. "As additional information becomes available, the Health Department will promptly provide updates."

In a letter to parents, Superintendent Walter Moran told parents that it was safe for students and staff to come to class on Monday. Counselors will be made available to students this week for anyone suffering from the sudden death.

"We continue to work closely with the Westchester County Department of Health and will promptly notify you if additional information becomes available," he noted. "No additional action is necessary regarding the safety of students, faculty and staff at this time."

There will be calling hours held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in Scarsdale. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday.

According to her obituary on legacy.com , Love loved drawing and art, soccer, swimming, golf and tennis.

"Lily touched all those she encountered with her ever present smile and laugh. She was joy itself and taught us all to be kinder, better, and more loving people."
