To The Editor,
My most sincere thanks to all of you in Bedford Central School District for your help and support in my winning this election. As we know, it takes a village, and I am profoundly grateful for your trust and confidence in my abilities. I would also like to thank my strong opponent for the insight and intellect she added to this election.
I am confident my future actions on the board will earn the confidence of those who didn't support me, while remaining committed to the areas where I think we can do better as a district.
I look forward to working with the board and administration on fostering more open lines of communication so that no student or constituency will be treated as a silent minority.
As we know, silence from the board on pressing and important concerns regarding serious issues has been construed as indifference. I think that this experience has been a contributing factor in stakeholder dissatisfaction, and I am looking forward to being a leader in improving this dynamic.
I firmly believe our district, for all of its strengths and challenges, can improve by acknowledging the issues from community input. I believe part of healing can come from turning the heat of discontent many of have felt, into a passion to be of service, as our common goal is to deliver an excellent education for all of our children.
I thank you again for voting for me, for your confidence, and for your support.
Regards,
Brian Sheerin
