Vlachos was born July 25, 1929, in New York City, to Harry and Frances (Cantley) Vlachos. He and his brother Mitchell owned a wholesale flower business in Manhattan's Flower District.
Vlachos is survived by his wife, Hannelore; daughters, Christine and Carolyn; son, Douglas; and three grandsons.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
