Mary Dikeman, 103, Former Armonk Resident

LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Mary C. Dikeman, a longtime resident of Larchmont who also had lived in Armonk and Greenwich, Conn., died on Saturday. She was 103.

She was born on Feb. 28, 1911, in Philadelphia to Janet Wilson Ord and Leander Chapin Claflin.

She had been a resident of the Osborn Retirement Community in Rye since 1996. Dikeman was active in the Larchmont Garden Club, the Larchmont Cotillion and the Larchmont Yacht Club Ladies Sailing.

She was an avid photographer and left an archive of family photos and movies. Her first husband was Munn Brewer, an attorney for many years in White Plains, as well as a justice of the peace for the town of Mamaroneck. He died in 1977.

She then married Edwin J. Dikeman Jr., who had had a career at Bankers Trust Co. He died in 1989.

Dikeman  is survived by her sons, Robert C. (Lee) Brewer of Bluffton, S.C., and Chazy Lake, N.Y., and William O. (Adrianne) Brewer of New Rochelle; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined.
