Christiansen Jr. was a Vietnam veteran, a retired NYC police officer assigned to the Bronx Task Force an elite squad of 100 men, a contractor and a Somers Lion.
He co-founded Drug Crisis in Our Backyard, along with his wife Carol, to raise awareness of the dangers of drug abuse.
He was a beloved member of the community serving people through many organizations. Christiansen Jr. was a music lover, an avid trivia buff and New York Mets fan.
He is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Karina and predeceased son Erik, who was a NYC police detective.
Calling hours will be held at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights on Wednesday, Jan. 7 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Patrick's Church in Yorktown on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in East Elmhurst.
