John Richard Tesone, 66, Of Armonk, Owned Breezemont Day Camp

ARMONK, N.Y. - John Richard "J.R." Tesone of Armonk died Saturday, Feb. 15. He was 66.

Tesone was born in the Bronx in 1948, to John R. and Marie Tesone. He was raised in Eastchester, and earned a BS from Fordham University and an MBA from Iona College. After marriage he and his family moved to Armonk in 1977. He taught mathematics at Brandeis High School in New York Cityfor a number of years, and was the owner and director of Breezemont Day Camp in Armonk for 48 years. He served on the boards of the American Camping Association, the New York State Camping Directors Association, and the Westchester County Board of Health. He coached the Armonk Little League, playing in a softball league for nearly 50 years.

Tesone is survived by his wife, Iris; daughter, Jenny; son, J.C.; four grandchildren; sisters, Priscilla Tortorella and Stephanie Palmer; brothers, Joseph and James Tesone; many nieces and nephews; and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Thursday, Feb. 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Oelker-Cox and Sinatra Funeral Home, 262 E. Main St., Mt. Kisco. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at Hillside Church, 448 Bedford Road, Armonk.
