MONTAUK, N.Y. - James D. Griffin of Montauk, former Armonk resident, died Aug. 28. He was 67.
Griffin was born March 4, 1947, in White Plains to John and Helen Griffin. He graduated from White Plains High School in 1965. After his father's death in 1970, he became owner of John A. Griffin Sons Moving Company, which he ran for more than 30 years until his retirement.
Griffin is survived by his wife, Roberta Griffin; children, Julie Gomes, James Griffin, Jr. and Cara Griffin; four grandchildren; brother, John; and sister, Geraldine.
Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at St. Therese Church in Montauk.
