ARMONK, N.Y. -- Geraldine M. (DeSimile) Avacato, a longtime Armonk resident, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, at her home in the Eddy Village Green at Beverwyck in Slingerlands, N.Y.
Born and educated in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose DeSimilie. Avacato lived most of her life in Armonk, and was active in many community organizations there.
In 2003, she moved to Slingerlands with her husband, Anthony, to be near their family.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Anthony Avacato; her children Anthony Avacato, Jr. of Slingerlands and Rosemary (Edward) Craig of Cooperstown: grandchildren Brian (Carrie), David and Thomas Craig; and great-granddaughter Emily.
Services were held in Delmar, N.Y.
