Frederic Robert Havelka, 88, Of Armonk, WWII Veteran

ARMONK, N.Y. - Frederic Robert Havelka of Armonk died April 18. He was 88.

Havelka was born June 23, 1925, in New York City, to Frederic Joseph and Bertha (Klusacek) Havelka. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 46 as an aviation mechanic on The USS Copahee in the Pacific fleet during World War II. He worked as a mechanic supervisor for the NYC Health and Hospital Corp. for more than 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1097 in Armonk, a member of the Miniature Aircraft Association of Westchester, and a member of The Teamster Union Supervisors Local # 621.

Havelka is survived by his wife, Theresa; children, Frederic P. (Sharon) Havelka of Armonk and Patrice H Havelka of New Rochelle.

Calling hours are Tuesday, April 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23 at St Patrick Church, Armonk. Interment at Mt Calvary Cemetery.
