Christopher Dewey, Westchester Aquatics Club Coach, Dies At 28

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- Christopher C. Dewey -- Pound Ridge resident, Westchester Aquatics Club swim coach and former Rye High School coach for the boys swim team – died on Tuesday, Dec. 22. He was 28.

Dewey was also a summer league coach for Larchmont Shore Club and Westchester Hills Country Club in White Plains, and pool director and head coach at Pound Ridge Town Pool. 

"His passion in life can truly be found with the children he inspired in and out of the pool," according to his obituary information with the Craft Memorial Home. "He was an avid outdoorsman and loved nature and its beauty. He cherished the time with his friends in the outdoors.”

The Fox Lane High School graduate is survived by his parents Carleanne Fierro of Pound Ridge and Stephen Dewey of Ossining; maternal grandparents Charles Fierro and Dorothy Forrest of Port Chester; sister Tricia Dewey and brother William Fierro Joyce of Pound Ridge; best friend Eric Wiltse of Golden, Colo.; and loving aunts, uncles and cousins. 

He was predeceased by his sister Michelle Dewey and paternal grandparents Robert and Martha Dewey.

Visitation hours will be 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 27, at Craft Memorial Home. A mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, at Corpus Christi Church, 136 South Regent St., Port Chester. Interment will follow at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla.
