Westchester Under Heat Advisory

 The heat is on!

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Westchester County until 9 PM Tuesday.Residents can expect high levels of heat and humidity and the heat index could make it feel like 105 degrees.Officials remind people to take extra precautions if they work or spend time outside. Try and limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening, wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing, and drink plenty of waterAnyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool, shaded location. Heat stroke is a medical emergency. Call 9-1-1 if you experience extreme dizziness,lightheadedness, rapid pulse or difficulty breathing.

Pets should also be limited in outdoor activities and should also drink plenty of water.
