WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Westchester native James Blake, the former tennis player who was tackled by New York City police earlier this month in a case of mistaken identity, says he believes Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner Bill Bratton are on his side after a two-hour meeting at City Hall Monday, reports Politico New York.

Blake said he, the mayor and police commissioner are on the same page and that he would like to see a long-lasting change so that incidents, such as the one he experienced with the NYPD, don’t happen again, according to the report.

Blake was talking with friends outside the Grand Marquis Marriott hotel in midtown Manhattan Wednesday, Sept. 9, when he was thrown to the ground and arrested after being mistakenly identified as an accomplice in a theft.
