The bulletin was issued out of an abundance of caution and there are currently no known specific, credible threats, the bulletin said.

An online post vowed that ISIS would use lone wolf attackers to "turn the Christian New Year into a bloody horror movie, that will force [the infidels] to hide inside their burrows during their holidays and regret for the participation of their countries in the war against The Islamic State."

The bulletin came after ISIS-related websites published a list of U.S. churches.
