Original report:
A train derailment in the vicinity of the Metro-North station in Rye resulted in several non-life-threatening injuries and delays of up to 45 minutes on the New Haven Line late Thursday afternoon through the evening.
The derailment, reported at around 5:15 p.m., reportedly involved several cars on the train and occurred east of the train station and behind the Avon building on Midland Ave.
None of the derailed cars were on their sides and there were no serious injuries reported, according to authorities. The number or nature of injuries has not been yet reported.
Passengers on the derailed train were transferred to another train about an hour after the incident.
Metro-North is advising customers to listen for announcements at local stations. Customers at Rye, Port Chester and Greenwich wishing to travel Westbound to Grand Central Terminal are advised to travel eastbound to Stamford.
