Storm Causes Road Closures, Power Outages Around Armonk

ARMONK, N.Y. – The North Castle Police Department reported that as of 3:30 p.m., Virginia Road in North White Plains is partially closed due to a downed tree and power lines. Route 120 near Armonk Bedford Road was previous closed due to a downed tree, but has since been reopened. 

According to Con Edison around 3 p.m., Tuesday, about 156 customers in Armonk near Limestone Road and Nichols Road were without power. Con Edison reported that the electricity in those homes is estimated to be restored at around 6 p.m. 

The North Castle Police Department, through The National Weather Service, has issued a wind advisory to residents that is in effect until 6 a.m.,Wednesday. Wind gusts are expected to reach up to 50 mph and could be enhanced by thunderstorms. Residents are advised to be aware of downed trees and to stay away from downed power lines.
