Small Town Theater Hosts Summer Concerts In Armonk

ARMONK, N.Y. – The Small Town Theatre Company will produce a series of free open air concerts this summer at the Wampus Brook Park in Armonk.

The Hanger Trio will perform on Saturday, July 26 at 8 p.m. Daniele Hager will take the stage with her brothers John and Robert to perform Broadway hits with pianist Eric Thomas Johnson. Each member of the group has performed on Broadway, off-Broadway or with international opera companies.

The Our Town and Chances Are quartets will perform on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 8 p.m.

Our Town, a Northeastern District Barbershop Harmony Society quartet champion, will perform standards by noted American writers and composers, according to a press release. The group comprises lead Scott Brannon, tenor Jamie Carbone, baritone Larry Tully and bass Terry Clarke.

The Chances Are Quartet is led by singer Julia Bacal, who has sung in many classical choruses including a performance at Lincoln Center with the NYU Chorale. She was also a featured singer for Uptown Sound, a local jazz ensemble from New York City. Bacal will share the stage with tenor Alice Fennell, bass Sharon Guzi and baritone Sharon Vitkovsky.

The Swingaroos will close the series on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 8 p.m., with performances of ‘30s and ‘40s inspired songs and hits by world-famous bandleaders Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller and Artie Shaw. Members are Assaf Gleizner on piano, Chris Conte on bass and vocals, Mike Gordon on drums, Dan Glaude on saxophone and clarinet,  Nat Ranson on trombone, and Kimberly Hawkey on vocals, tenor and banjo.

Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets.
