Security Tightened At Ny-area Airports After Istanbul Attack

Port Authority Police have stepped up security at airports in the New York City area after a gun and suicide bomb apparent terrorist attack on Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, Turkey killed 42 people and injured 239.

In addition, officers with tactical weapons are patrolling LaGuardi, John F. Kennedy and Newark International airports, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey also announced.

The Port Authority said the enhanced security measures are in addition to the "diverse counter-terrorism patrols at various Port Authority facilities" following the terror attack on a nightclub in Orlando, Florida earlier this month.
