YONKERS, N.Y. -- A state senate candidate has two tax liens against him and is going through foreclosure proceedings on his Yonkers home, according to LoHud.com.
Joe Dillon, a Republican running in the 37th Senate District, reportedly has a $5,000 tax lien in Virginia, and another $3,000 lien in California on top of the home foreclosure, LoHud.com reported.
Dillon's spokesman said that the candidate has been up front about being a victim of the financial crisis and that the bill for California has been paid while the Virginia lien is being disputed, LoHud.com said.
The 37th legislative district includes Bedford, Bronxville, Eastchester, Harrison, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, parts of New Rochelle, North Castle, Port Chester, Rye City, Rye Brook, Tuckahoe, parts of White Plains and the eastern half of Yonkers.
