Renovation Of Historic Armonk Church's Interior Nearly Complete

ARMONK, N.Y. – A historic church in Armonk will begin celebrating its 175th birthday in October in a fully restored sanctuary, according to a report by The Examiner

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, built in 1842, has been plastering, painting and sanding the walls, ceilings, pews and floors and will also have an upgraded pipe organ, The Examiner 

The majority of the renovation work has been done, Father Nils Chittenden told The Examiner.

Its congregation of about 100 families will mark the church's upcoming anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 9, The Examiner.

The Greek Revival-style church, at 50 Bedford Road, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
