The company, using drone photography, captured wide, aerial shots of the nationally recognized event from above. Tompkins contributed their video and photography expertise.
“It’s so important to support the arts and libraries in our community,” said Stacey Tompkins, president of Tompkins Excavating. “We had the capabilities they needed, and were happy to supply them with our services.”
Justin Tompkins, a senior at Putnam Valley High School and one of Stacey’s sons, offered to work the weekend and drive the drones to capture live photos and videos: “I was happy to help my parents, but also to help out the Art Show. It was great to get some shots and videos that the show can use to promote the event in the future.”
This year, the Armonk Outdoor Art Show showcased a fresh and diverse array of art, with over 185 juried artists from around the world. The show was also the most successful year for the event to date, raising well over $100,000 in revenue for the North Castle Public Libraries.
The show’s sponsor, Friends of the North Castle Public Library, allocates all proceeds to facilities upgrades, new technology, programs and entertainment.
"We are thankful for the dollars and contributions of our corporate sponsors and community supporters, who help make our show a success,” said Stacy Wilder, co-chair of the art show. "This year, sponsor Tompkins Excavating supplied us with aerial drone photos, which helped us capture the beauty and magnitude of our 54 year-old show from a new perspective."
Tompkins Excavating began as a lawn mowing service until a subdivision was established in Yorktown in the late 1980's which transformed the business into a full-service commercial and residential excavation company.
