Power Slowly Returning to North Castle

ARMONK, N.Y.-Con Ed crews continue work on power lines affected by hurricane Irene throughout North Castle and Supervisor Weaver sent out yet another message Wednesday, updating residents on their progress.

“Crews are working around the clock to establish ‘all clear’ work areas so that restoration crews can continue to work safely… damage is severe and widespread,” Weaver said. “North Castle highway crews worked with Con Ed crews overnight to assist in every way possible.”

Weaver and Con Ed crews remain optimistic that power will return by sometime Thursday night.

“Power has returned to a few areas and Con Edison is still working towards restoration of all North Castle customers by midnight Thursday night,” Weaver said.

The supervisor informed residents that Suburban Carting continues its regularly scheduled pick-up of waste and recyclables.

“If your road is blocked by police barricades you may bring your container to the road block and the driver will pick it up from there,” Weaver said.
