Possible Contamination Leads To Recall Of 30,000 Cases Of Hummus

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Sabra Dipping Company announced the voluntary recall of approximately 30,000 cases of its Classic Hummus on Wednesday due to possible contamination with listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

To date, there have been no reports indicating that these products have caused any illness.

Consumers who have purchased any of these products are urged to dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
