Berra, who was appointed to fill a vacancy when Michael Schiliro becoming town supervisor, was defeated by Guy Mezzancello by just 22 votes in the November election. He congratulated his successor in his remarks and said that the election's tone was "really very positive.”
“It’s been a huge honor for me to serve on this board," Berra said, noting that he has been in town for about 25 years and had kept a low profile.
Berra also said it has been nice to get to know people, as well as working with residents and town employees. He spoken positively of how North Castle is faring, saying the town has moved in a “positive direction.”
The Dec. 10 meeting was the last for Berra, who will be replaced by Mezzancello beginning in January.
