Supervisor Michael Schiliro, in an email follow-up to the community, noted that the budget comes in about $250,000 under the state's tax cap. The tax rate, he added, will increase by 2.4 percent.

The board approved the budget after deliberation at the meeting for tweaking it.

The town's adopted budget, Schiliro announced, includes funding for two additional police officers, along with more funding for equipment.

A significant part of the 2015 budget is the expenditure of $1.15 million on road maintenance, which Schiliro notes is an increase of 15 percent.

Schiliro's announcement about the budget notes that there was a pavement management study in 2013, which is called "a comprehensive analysis from routine maintenance to complete road rehabilitation."

The budget message adds, "In addition, the Town Board is working with the Budget and Finance Committee to evaluate the report and establish a multiyear plan to continue to improve our roads."
