ARMONK, N.Y. The North Castle Police Department is urging residents to take precautionary measures when leaving their cars unattended in areas around town as they report a recent increase in vehicle break-ins and burglaries.
North Castle Detective William Fisher sent out a notice to residents that multiple vehicles in the area have been broken in to using forced entry. The police said that in some cases vehicles windows were smashed in and that most incidents have occurred during the day in the early afternoon hours.
Various items such as money and technology devices have been stolen, police said, and in some cases identities have been stolen to fraudulently obtain money and bank accounts. North Castle Police urge residents that any valuable items left in the car should not be in plain sight and instead should be placed in the cars trunk or glove compartment.
North Castle Police is asking any residents with information on these vehicle break-ins to contact Fisher at 914-273-9500.
