Madonna’s latest proposal is one large building that eliminates the multi-building option and reduces the single structure to 15,000 square feet. The original 2013 project had five separate buildings of about 20,000-22,000 total square feet.
Board members said the new plan would provide more screening for the surrounding neighborhood than the alternative of the 14 townhouses.
In an earlier meeting on Sept. 24, the Town Board had concerns about the size and scale of Madonna’s plan of the one larger building. They wanted Madonna to return to the Planning Board to review three optional plans, said Kory Salomone, Madonna’s lawyer.
The three options considered were: five townhouse buildings of 14-units; the single building plan of 16 apartments; and a hybrid plan of one larger building of 10 apartments on the Route 128 side of the property, plus three smaller buildings of two apartments each in the back of the property near Old Mount Kisco Road.
Madonna purchased 3.6 acres of property on 125 Mount Kisco Road between 2008 and 2010. The property is currently zoned for six-single family homes, but Madonna, who has long been working on plans to develop the property, appeared before the Town Board on February 13 to discuss a proposal for multifamily dwelling units for seniors, off Main Street just north of downtown Armonk.
He will appear before the North Castle Planning Board again to two weeks.
